Our story

A small roastery with a long history.

Legacy started on a stovetop. My wife and I, a cast-iron pan, and a stubborn belief that better coffee was worth the patience. We learned by smell, by sound, by burning a few batches and saving the rest — and somewhere along the way it became something bigger than a kitchen experiment.

Today we roast in small batches, source thoughtfully, and ship coffee we'd happily pour for our own family. Because that's still who we're really roasting for.

Ordering

Order directly through our website. Choose your roast, pick your size, and check out. Salem-area customers can also use code SALEMLOCAL at checkout for free local delivery.

Yes. Pick any coffee and choose Subscribe at checkout. You decide the rhythm — weekly, every two weeks, or monthly — and you'll save 10% on every bag. Pause, skip, or cancel anytime.

Absolutely. Add a gift note in the order notes field at checkout and we'll include it. Want it sent directly to the recipient? Just use their shipping address.

Shipping & Pickup

Anywhere in the United States.

We process and ship orders within 2 business days. Once shipped, delivery typically takes 3–5 business days via USPS. You'll get a tracking number as soon as your order goes out.

Yes — Salem-area customers can use code SALEMLOCAL at checkout for free local delivery. We'll coordinate a delivery time that works for you once we receive your order.

Carriers occasionally mark packages as delivered a day or two early. Please wait one additional business day. If your order still hasn't arrived, reach out and we'll make it right — no hassle.

The Coffee

Yes. We source and roast specialty-grade green coffee, which means it scores at least 80 points on the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) scale. We only roast coffee we'd happily pour for our own family.

We rotate decaf options seasonally. Check the shop on our website or join the email list — we'll let you know when decaf is in.

Right now we offer whole bean only — it stays fresher, longer. Pre-ground options are coming soon. Join our email list to be the first to know.

Very fresh. Every bag is roasted to order or within a short roast window, and we include the roast date right on the label. For best flavor, brew within 4–6 weeks of the roast date.

Cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Our bags have a one-way valve that lets CO2 escape without letting air in. Don't refrigerate or freeze your coffee — moisture and odors will affect the flavor.

Returns & Issues

We're sorry to hear that. Send us a photo and we'll send a replacement at no charge. Simple as that.

Coffee preference is personal — we get it. Reach out and we'll do our best to make it right, whether that's a recommendation for a different roast, a discount on your next order, or something else. We want you to love your coffee.

Coffee is perishable, so we can't accept returns on opened bags. Unopened bags may be returned within 14 days of delivery — just reach out first. Damaged or defective product gets replaced or refunded, no return required.

Legacy Coffee Roasters is a small-batch craft coffee company founded by Nathan and Chloe — a husband-and-wife team based in Salem, Oregon. Every roast is personal. We started on a stovetop and have never lost that hands-on approach.
